About Guru Rattana, Ph.D.: Pioneering teacher and prolific writer, Guru Rattana is author of four of the original and still globally popular Kundalini Yoga and Meditation manuals: Transitions to a Heart-Centered World (2nd edition, 2014), Relax and Renew (2nd edition, 2017), Sexuality and Spirituality, and Introduction to Kundalini Yoga (revised, 2 volumes, 2015), as well as The Destiny of Women Is the Destiny of the World. Her most recent books are The Inner Art of Love, The Gift of Womanhood, The Power of Neutral, Your Life is in Your Chakras (expanded edition, 2014), and Sing to Your Soul – Jap-ji Explains the Spiritual Path (2016).

Guru Rattana began studying with Yogi Bhajan in 1977 and is a KRI certified Kundalini Yoga teacher. She has written over 260 issues of the New Millennium Being e-zine (now Guru Rattana Blog), featuring articles on spirituality, astrology, and Kundalini Yoga. She has produced over 100 Kundalini Yoga and Meditation video classes for Guru Rattana Online available on www.yogatech.com.

Guru Rattana earned her Doctorate in Political Science from the Graduate Institute of International Studies (University of Geneva, Switzerland) and received her Master’s degree from Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (Washington, DC, and Bologna, Italy). She has taught at Dartmouth College, MIT, New Hampshire College, U.S. International University, Institute of Transpersonal Psychology in Palo Alto, California, and at Stanford University.

Her international teaching tours have included 17 countries. She is lead trainer and co-creator of KRIYA Inner Awareness Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training Courses, registered with Yoga Alliance. Guru Rattana lives in Coronado (San Diego), California.

Hatha Yoga: A yoga sequence designed to support the natural detoxification process. Asanas will focus on creating space in the body and increasing circulation. Meditation and controlled breath work will be practiced to support a 21-day commitment and release tension.

Nutrition Education & Support: Learn how to adjust your current eating habits to promote optimal nutritional health.  Learn to eliminate foods that decrease vitality and incorporate more health supportive nutrients into your diet.  Food is information. Learn how to communicate good health to your body.

Gentle Yoga

This class is part of our weekly schedule. No prior yoga experience is needed.

This gentle yoga class is based on the Hatha tradition and appropriate for those who want a softer, nurturing, slow-paced, well-supported and relaxing practice.

This slow mindful practice equally strengthens and stretches, increasing flexibility and range of motion of the major joints through carefully guided movements linked with the breath to allow a gradually unfolding of the body and mind.

When we slow down, move with the breath and honor our body as it is in the moment we gain a deeper understanding of ourselves, moving beneath the stress and busyness of everyday life to a place of deeper connection and peace.


Harmony & Balance

Wednesdays, 11:15AM-12:30PM

This class is part of our weekly schedule. No prior experience is needed.

This class will focus on finding more harmony and balance through gentle, flowing physical movements, and learning to access “Pranayama”, the power of the breath to calm or energize. This will be followed by deep relaxation to renew the body and meditation for connection with the Divine thread of the Universe.


Hatha Yoga

Wednesdays 7:00PM-8:15PM

This class is part of our weekly schedule. No prior yoga experience is needed.

This class will include both repetitive movements and holding asanas for several breaths to increase awareness and maintain full attention on what is happening in our mind and body. Emphasis is on the development of each student’s individual movement potential, not in the attainment of perfect form. From this point of view, classical asana practice is a means of deepening our ability to be present and aware. Class will end with savasana and chakra meditation to create positive pathways of transformation and wellness in our body, mind and heart.

This class is for all levels. Please wear comfortable clothing and bring a water bottle. Yoga mats and props are available for your use.


Vinyasa Yoga

with Taylor Jackson

Thursdays 8:00AM-9:15AM

This class is part of our weekly schedule. No prior yoga experience is needed.

Taylor will begin each vinyasa class with a reading, dharma talk or inspiration paired with breath work, followed by a relaxed, fluid warm-up leading into a more physical practice. She will complete each class with a meditation and a relaxing savasana. Taylor focuses on connecting breath to movement in each class, leading students inward for the hour and fifteen minutes students are practicing. She brings a flow, rhythm and connection to the sequences and movements throughout the class. Taylor’s goal for each class is for students to walk away feeling connected to themselves and accepting where they are that day.
About Taylor: Taylor Jackson received her 200-hour Yoga Certification in March 2014 from the Marianne Wells Yoga School in Costa Rica. She has a consistent self-practice and passion for learning about many types of yoga and movement including, Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Kundalini and QiGong. In her classes, Taylor focuses on building strength and connecting breath to movement. She balances each class with challenging and restoring sequences. Her passion is to help each student connect to yoga in their own way, to grow, and to find what feels right for them.

Ayurveda, known as the science of life, is an ancient, holistic system of healing the mind, body and spirit.  One aspect of Ayurveda is to provide guidance to live in harmony with nature by cultivating proper lifestyle choices throughout the year.

Based on the ancient wisdom and teaching of Ayurveda, each class will be geared to balance and bring harmony to your well-being through asana, pranayama and meditation specific to the season.

Local climate plays an important role in the overall state of balance for the body, mind and breath. Each season brings in a unique set of qualities that can either pacify or aggravate the inner workings of your being. This is why a seasonal yoga routine and practice is so important and helpful to your overall health.
