Michele’s Personal Yoga Practice
A LOOK INSIDE MICHELE’S PERSONAL KUNDALINI PRACTICE AND HOW
IT HAS POSITIVELY CHANGED HER AND HER LIFE
Michele has a daily practice of Kundalini Yoga and Meditation that spans anywhere between one to two hours. She discovered Kundalini Yoga on her quest to find something or someone that would support her in strengthening her connection to Spirit. Michele intuitively knew it would come in the form of yoga. So Michele set out to learn as much as she could about yoga. In doing so she quickly learned that “Yoga” is a generic term, and that there are actually 22 formal Schools of Yoga, each one unique onto itself. So when an invitation to attend the Annual International Yoga Festival in Rishikesh, India, came across her radar screen, she jumped at it. The venue would enable her to try the many different styles of yoga with some of the worlds leading teachers in their specific disciplines. While Michele had tried some of the more traditional forms of yoga prior to attending the International Yoga Festival, she had not discovered one that resonated with her. It was not until she took her first Kundalini Class with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa at the International Yoga Festival that she discovered what she was looking for. She left her first class feeling so alive, so vibrant, so empowered knowing that Kundalini Yoga was going to play a key role in enabling Michele to live the second half of her life with even greater vitality, joy and purposefulness.
Since establishing her own regular Kundalini Yoga Practice, Michele and her life has positively changed in various ways. Firstly, it accomplished what she initially was looking to accomplish from a yoga practice….. it greatly supports her in deeply connecting and living from Spirit/Higher Self. As a result, she lives with greater peace, calm and joy. Michele had no idea that the benefits of the practice would go beyond that, and boy did it!! To her surprise, it healed her from four chronic health disorders that she suffered with for many years: Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Sciatica, Chronic Sinus Infections and a Skin Disorder that surfaced when she was a teenager. While Michele tried various conventional and alternative medicine approaches through the years which were offered by some of the best doctors in the country, nothing helped. Eventually she dropped everything and just learned to live with them. Living with the health disorders became her new normal. To Michele’s surprise, within a year of a regular practice of Kundalini Yoga she was healed from Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Sciatica and Chronic Sinus Infections, and by the third year of her Kundalini Practice she was healed from her Skin Disorder.
Furthermore, the Kriyas (sets of exercises) and Kundalini Meditations have helped Michele cultivate a “Neutral Mind.” This Neutral Mind has enabled Michele to disassociate from the reactive/emotional mind associated with the Ego and connect to her higher intelligence and intuitive mind which corresponds to the Higher Self. As a result, there is a lot less drama and commotion in Michele’s life and more peace, joy, fun and an abundance of energy to enjoy the meaningful things in her life.
Finally, the structure of the classes and the diversity of the Kriyas (physical exercises) has enabled Michele to maintain a healthy weight, and a strong, fit body without any other forms of exercise outside her Kundalini Practice. Kundalini Yoga is truly a workout for the body, mind and spirit.
